Makeup Artist OOTD

Beauty, Outfit of the Day

Several people have asked me how I do my own makeup on days that I have makeup jobs, and while some days I’ll go with a bold lip or apply some false lashes to a soft smoky eye, most of the time I just go with my classic cat-eye and keep the color palette soft. It’s an easy way to look polished and trendy without going overboard and looking cakey.
I personally love wearing all black clothing. It’s effortlessly chic and never goes out of style.
What do you think? Do you like black on black?

  1. Good for you! Sometimes I think MUA’s try to show off every technique they’ve got on their own face… But your look is really professional and young without looking overdone. And I LOVE the work outfit; there really is nothing like an all black ensemble.

    • I couldn’t agree more. While I’m very aware that bold brows, dark vampy lips and contouring like crazy is in right now, I have seen too many artists go overboard with it, sometimes to the point of turning off their clients.
MAC cosmetics, for example, has some very talented artists working in their stores, but because of the overall makeup look I see presented on the faces of said artists, I would personally never choose them to do my makeup for a special event in which I still wish to look like myself.

And, with style and taste varying so dramatically from client to client, it is safe and professional to present a clean, fresh, young-looking face to put the tomboy who was never worn mascara in her life, along with the Kim Kardashian look-alikes at ease. πŸ™‚

As always, thanks for commenting Quin!
